Don’t worry, I forgot too.

I know you forgot I had a blog… no worries though.  I forgot too.
Actually… I don’t think I really forgot… I just simply consciously decided I had nothing good to write… at least nothing worth reading… and therefore nothing worth writing for it wouldn’t be read.  (I’m in philosophy class right now… hence why i sound so philosophical… and by philosophical I mean everything sounds the same and is redundant but somehow possess more than 4 different meanings…)

Anyways… I’m going to attempt to get back on this horse.

I have a lot of thoughts… many of which I don’t write down and therefore I feel 1.) I either forget or 2.) I don’t fully engage them.

Both are true.

The summer ended well. Loved it. Loved it. Loved it.

What can I say… I lived the cush life.

The semester has been full of school, soccer, and campus life… All of which have been great. Like anything… There are good and great days… and not so good.

Anyways… thats all for now.  Cheers to pursuit of writing down my thoughts.

civilization.

Greetings friends.  
I returned to civilization yesterday evening.  The week was incredible.  It really was a huge blessing to my life.  I truly do believe that this is where I need to be. 

Last week synopsis:

Day 1: Blindfolded. Dropped off in the wilderness. Given 6 maps. Told to make our way to different waypoints. Lots of fog. Even more rain. Saw a herd of elk within 50 yards of us. Deep conversations amidst the rain.  Camped for the night in one of the most awe-inspiring aspen groves known to man. 

Day 2: Beautiful sunrise. Oatmeal and hot chocolate for breakfast. No rain to begin the day.  Hiked a lot. Relaxed. Enjoyed time to myself. Met up with other groups in remote rendezvous location late.

Day 3:  Woke up at 5:30. Peaked a fourteener. Glissaded down a mountain. Performed many training scenarios. Returned to camp. Chilled. Fellowship abounded. Spooned with Jonah for warmth. Laughed so hard I cried and got a cramp. 

Day 4: Woke up. Chilled out over breakfast.  Loved on each other. More scenarios. More training. Ice axe throwing competition.  Corporate worship.  Affirmation and sharing under the stars.  Slept with every other guide under one tarp.  Loved life. 

Day 5: Woke up eventually. Orienteered. Played the question game. Enjoyed the hail.  Eventually… hiked out to civilization… unfortunately.

 

So… there is the jist of the week. Obviously… the shortened version.  To much to share with you over this. Many stories to tell. Oh… and camera died on first day… forgot to charge battery… so pictures will be coming as soon as I steal them from other people.

hello, backcountry.

I will be escaping into the Colorado backcountry for approximately 6 days starting tomorrow morning.  I am looking forward to a great time of rest, relaxation, and fellowship with friends.  Tomorrow is part of our last training block for the summer.  The jist of the trip is this… We will get blindfolded… driven into the mountains for about an hour… dropped off… given four maps not knowing where we are on any of them and told to be at a certain destination in 5 days. 

 

Should be a blast. Seriously… can’t wait.

It’s been a drought of blogging… or as my mom pronounces… “blaggin” but never the less… here I am again.  

 

Been fairly unmotivated to write or share anything lately and I have been really busy with the end of school and preparing for the summer.   Classes are finishing up well… probably not as good as I have finished before… but such is life.  I’ll pass.  And I’m ok with that.  

 

One more final in an hour and I’m home free… well I’m headed home for two days… and then I am off again to Colorado for another adventure.   I trust all is well.
